Wrinkles are formed in a few different ways. One major culprit is the repeated motions your face makes over time. Your facial muscles contract and relax every single time you frown, laugh, smile, or make another expression. Over the years, this leads to wrinkle lines on your forehead, around your eyes, and around your mouth. Wrinkles formed by motion are referred to as “dynamic wrinkles,” and they are the type that is best treated by neurotoxin.
Another type of wrinkles called “static wrinkles” are harder to treat. These wrinkles are formed as you sleep, or simply by the pull of gravity over time. These wrinkles are set deeper into your skin than dynamic wrinkles and don’t respond as well to neurotoxin. However, new evidence suggests that neurotoxin can be used as preventative care to mitigate wrinkles from forming, or becoming more severe.

What is Botox?
Botox has been approved by the FDA to temporarily soften lines around the brows, forehead, and eyes. It’s been in use since 1989 and is backed by years of scientific research and study. Botox is the most commonly used type of neuromodulator.
Who is a candidate for Neurotoxin?
People with moderate to severe facial wrinkles might be good candidates for neurotoxin, especially if those wrinkles are located between their eyebrows, around their eyes, on their forehead, or on their neck. People who are concerned about excessive sweat are also possible candidates for neurotoxin. It’s important to be in overall good health before receiving neurotoxin. There are some circumstances and physical conditions that can make it unsafe to receive neuromodulator. For instance, you shouldn’t have any neuromodulator if you:

Are currently pregnant or Nursing
Are allergic to any of the ingredients in Botox
Have multiple sclerosis or another neuromuscular disease
Have a known weakness in your facial or neck muscles
Have drooping eyelids
Have significant facial asymmetry
Have significant facial scarring
Have very thick facial skin
